According to Pep Guardiola, Manchester City’s manager,
better sexual health can make you a great player
A few days ago, Pep Guardiola made a statement that left his
team very satisfied. Namely, he told his players that having healthy sex life and relationship on a regular
basis will improve their performance.
These suggestions were made after the speculations in media
that he is discouraging sexual activity among his players.
A few days ago, Manchester City’s former star Samir Nasri,
revealed that Pep has strictly forbidden any sexual activity to all players
after midnight. At the same time, Nasri said that Guardiola insisted that this
ban on sex has improved the performance of Lionel Messi in Barcelona.
Sami Nasri is now in Sevilla on loan, but he insists that
his words are true and that Pep Guardiola was concerned that sex activities before the match can lead to muscle
injuries in his team.
The popular midfielder also revealed that after midnight sex
restrictions were still in play even in case players were free on the following
day.
Manchester City’s manager is known for his practice to
“force” players to go to bed before midnight so they can use their energy on
the field the following day.
But, even though Pep Guardiola didn’t say that he is
replying to Nasri’s allegations, he pointed out that he strongly believes that
following a healthy sex life can boost testosterone level and enhance football players’ results.
According to Guardiola, the player can never reach his
maximum if they are avoiding sex with their partners. He also said that he
would never ban something like this.
This indirect response to Samir’s allegations was announced
in a friendly and fun way and it seemed that Guardiola was in a good mood
before the match against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
After the impressive start, Manchester City has experienced
some problems and managed to get just three points in the three last matches
(three draws), so their match against Crystal Palace was very important.
Obviously, Manchester City wants to be a champion this season and their current
position is not enough for the management.

Stones to make any changes.
According to Guardiola, it is very hard for him to replace
Stones with another player because Stones has a unique personality and style of
playing. He admits that it is sometimes difficult to help this player
understand his mistakes, but he has other great qualities that won’t make him
change this player with another one.
Pep also said that he has noticed some similarities between
Pique and Stones. He says that Pique was developing in a similar way. This is
quite logical because Pique was part of Manchester City too where he appeared
from time to time before he played incredibly well at the World Cup and later
in Barcelona.
So, the manager of Manchester City is convinced that Stones’
time will come and that he has not yet shown everything he knows. Yet, many
people say that the price of his development is too high and affects the team’s
performance.
Once again, Guardiola highlighted the fact that Gerard Pique
was not playing frequently in Manchester City, but after a while, he became a stronger and more confident
player. Players like them need some time to show what they got.
He also said that it’s a true pleasure to work with John
because he is doing his best to improve the areas where he is weak.
