Antonio Luna (25) made a statement in which he reveals his
sincere apology after the appearance of a sex tape on the Internet. This relatively
short video clip includes the former Premier League player, together with Sergi
Enrich, currently playing at the La Liga club Eibar, having wild sex with an
unidentified girl.
Antonio Luna has played 18 times for Aston Villa in 2013 and
2014 after he moved there from Spanish La Liga club Sevilla for two million
pounds. After that, he played for Verona
and Spezia. In 2015 he moved to Eibar.
A few days ago, both Luna and Enrich, expressed their
regrets for the incident with the help of their social media profiles.
According to the statement, both of them said that they were
aware that there is a video that has become viral and in which they appear to
have sex with a woman. They pointed out that all sides involved were well aware
what they were doing, but they didn’t want this private act to become public.
They also said that they were not aware that the video was
published publicly. Luna and Enrich said that they were sorry not only for the
possible damage to their reputation but
for the reputation of their club, their fans and even the city of Eibar. These
relatively young football players said that football players should serve as an
example for young people and this is what makes them feel even worse.
At the same time, they said that they were sorry for the
damage that this video might have caused to the young woman that appears in the
video. Once again, Luna and Enrich
highlighted the fact that as proud players of SD Eibar, a club that they
respect, and a club that is supported by the city and fans, they will
definitely try to follow the values that were presented to them since their
arrival in this city. They stressed that they hope that their sexual desire won’t harm the reputation of their fellow teammates and the club.
When Antonio Luna started playing for Aston Villa he marked
his first match with a goal. Aston Villa played against Arsenal away in London
in the first round of the 2013/2014 season and managed to win 3:1.
But, it seems that his success started to fade and even
though he appeared additional 17 times he didn’t score a single goal after
that. Due to the fact that the management was disappointed with his performance
he was sent to Verona on loan. Once the contract with Aston Villa was over, the
defender decided to move to Eibar. Luna appeared 5 times in 7 matches in the
strongest Spanish league – La Liga. Eibar is now in the upper part of the
table.
